Inspiration In The Most Unlikely Of Places...
Since my seperation, I've rediscovered my love for movies. Except that now, instead of just watching them for what they are, I tend to look at the general message behind them.
Of course, there are the fairly generic ones like the hero survives, gets the girl, or generally succeeds at the end. After all, some of the most successful movies show us how 'good' always triumphs over 'evil' and all that stuff.
What's interesting for me is that bad news sells newspapers, yet happy endings sell movies! Perhaps it's because people want an escape from the 'bad news reality' - although personally I'm focusing my life on aiming for 'happy endings' wherever I can - despite whatever my circumstances may be.
And so should YOU too!
There's another thing I like to pick up on when I watch a movie. It's the little sentences of dialogue that actually MEAN something. The fascinating these 'pearls of wisdom' are...quite often, in the most unlikely of movies! Some of the most interesting ones actually came from films that didn't exactly fit in the 'everyone wins' category.
For example, here are just a couple of such quotes...
From Mr Magorium's Wonderful Emporium - "Your life is an occasion. Rise to it"
(Uttered by Mr Magorium just as he's about to die)
From Flashbacks of a Fool - "He lived his life in the present moment, just like a child. That's so rare in a man."
(Said by the wife of a man who suddenly died young)
There are certainly more that I picked up on at the time that I can't remember at the moment.
I can guarantee that practically every other person in the auditorium watching these movies NEVER pick up on these nuggets of wisdom.
If they did, I bet that they didn't take it out of the context of the story and realize that where their life is actually concerned - these quotes are seriously powerful!
I'm certainly trying wherever possible to move my life around to 'rise to it'...and I can certainly tell you that the more YOU live (and enjoy) the 'present moment' then the better and more rewarding your life will be.
Sometimes inspiration comes from the most unlikely of places - and hidden in movies where you least expect it!

Why You Should Refuse To Be Normal...
I gladly tell anyone who asks me that I never want to be 'normal'. However, a good friend of friend of mine couldn't understand why I DIDN'T want to be normal!
I had to explain to her that my version of normal meant that I...
- Refused to accept that I had to work hard until I retired
- Knew that I was as 'special', 'talented', or 'gifted' as anyone else
- Didn't have to limit myself just because everyone else does for various reasons
- Had complete responsibility and control for both where I currently am, and where I am going
- Refused to even entertain thoughts that anything other than my thoughts, feelings, and their resulting actions could influence my life
- Understood that any crap in my life could either drag me down, or be used as a learning experience - even if it may sometimes be difficult to do so.
- Live a life of my own choosing, whatever the consequences
There are a few more, but I can't think of them at the moment!
I see it all the time. It's just what we're brought up to believe, and further 'educated' on by the media as the years go on.
Even my own family laugh at me because my priorities are different to everyone else's (and I mean EVERYONE!). They think that I am chasing a 'dream', when in fact I'm just getting closer to the purpose I am here for - to experience what this life brings me, or more accurately, to experience what I bring into my life as a result of the way that I think and feel.
Whether you may hate me for saying so - it's not good enough for you to accept that leading a 'NORMAL' life is something that you aim for! You can moan all you like about why you can't do something with your life, but I can guarantee that, without a doubt, YOU yourself are holding yourself back in some way.
I devote my life to learning this stuff, and teaching what I learn about it, and I can tell you - the more you realize that YOU alone have the control and the power of your own destiny - the more chance you will have of creating one that you really want!
