All It Takes Is 30 Seconds...

This will be my last post for a few days...as I am off to Miami first thing on Thursday to join the Affiliate Masters Cruise as one of the 'experts'.

So...expect to see my next post on Tuesday 4th November.

It's funny to be classed as an 'expert'!

After all...I am NO different to YOU in any particular respect.

I'm no more clever than you are.
I'm not luckier than you.
I don't have any 'connections'.
I probably weigh more than you!
I don't have any particularly unique talents.

Just a couple of years ago...I would have laughed if you told me that I would be asked to be an expert on an Internet marketing cruise around the Caribbean!

The only real difference that I MIGHT have over you is that I always try to ACT on my ideas and knowledge...whether it feels a little uncomfortabe or not.

YOU can easily 'achieve' what I have.
YOU certainly have enough good ideas.
YOU probably have as much money as I did when I started (i.e. credit card debts!)

So...time is moving on...and you are now about 30 seconds older than when you started to read this.

Don't let that be a wasted 30 seconds.

Do something TODAY...hell - NOW!

Don't WAIT for things to happen to you...MAKE them happen!

I'm nobody particularly special...and neither are you, too. BUT you are YOU...and that is the key to your future success.

Can I Ask...WHO Are You?

Are you really in tune with who you really are?

This may seem a strange question to ask but...WHO are you?

The first thing that you are NOT is your profession.

So...you are NOT "an accountant", "a homemaker", or "a car mechanic".

Neither are you your level in that occupation.

So...you are NOT "a manager", "a supervisor", or "a clerk"

Let me ask you again - WHO are you, really?

You are NOT your income.

So...you are not "poor", "a millionaire", or "earn $30,000 a year"

If you strip away these things from the answer that you normally give to the question - "Who are you?"...are you left with much?

I doubt it.

I define who I am by HOW I live my life...rather than WHAT I do for a living.

So...I'm a person who is a learner, a teacher, a fighter, a positive thinker, an idea-maker...a person who is dedicated to making the most of what he has got!

What about YOU?

WHO ARE YOU?

You ONLY Really Know Something When You Teach It

Anybody who tells you that they don't get nervous is a liar.

There...I've said it.

Today I officially released my brand new "The Law of Success" 16 week Teleclass Program.

To tell you the truth...I was a little nervous about announcing it.

Not because I don't think that it isn't excellent. (It is excellent)

Not because I don't think that I will be able to 'pull it off' as a success (It will be a HUGE success)

Nope. I was a little nervous because, although I have spent many hours working through 1,150 pages of Napoleon Hill's "Law of Success" ebook in order to construct the Program...all of this was only an idea of mine until YOU saw it!

And, of course...decided whether my idea was good or not!

In the past I would never have been confident enough to be able to turn around and put myself on the line to make my ideas into reality.

Of course...I'm nervous about the Program. Nervous that you will get as much out of it as I think you will...and nervous that I will be able to condense 1,150 pages into 16 hours of teleclasses!

But...

I am not nervous of what I am doing. I KNOW that this Program will have a dramatic effect on those people who participate.

I believe this so strongly that I am happy to offer a 100% money-back guarantee on it.

Plus...I know from experience, that you ONLY really know something when you teach it.

So...I'm looking forward to an amazing learning experience, too!

And...This Is What You SHOULD Be Doing!

Yesterday...I talked about the FACT that YOU alone are in control...and we focused on what you should STOP doing.

Well, today...we are going to look at what you SHOULD be doing!

So...

- You SHOULD be thinking about what you REALLY want out of your life. No...not what you THINK that you really want...what your 'life mission' is.

- You SHOULD know exactly WHO the people are that are currently in your life that you WANT to 'take with you' towards your ideal future.

- You SHOULD be able to put into one sentence what you WANT from your life...without using the words - income, millionaire, or money!

- You SHOULD look at the people who are where you want to be...and think about how you can LEARN from their experience.

- You SHOULD accomplish something (no matter how small) every day that, in some way, moves you towards your ideal future.

- You SHOULD look at how you can leverage your efforts so that you are not getting paid purely in return for the amount of hours that you work. Not always easy to do...but it IS possible!

- You SHOULD focus on the quality of your thoughts. If you become what you think...then ANY negative thought won't help you in the slightest. The easiest way to start doing this is to wear an elastic band on your wrist and 'ping' it every time that you have a negative thought.

- You SHOULD look at how your HABITS are reflected in who you are. Just 5 or 10 times a day spent on something more constructive than mindlessly watching TV is an excellent start!

I could go on...and on...but I'm sure that YOU probably have more useful ideas about what you SHOULD be doing than me.

Everyone KNOWS what they SHOULD be doing and aren't...so, what about YOU?

Are YOU On Your Own Side?

Whoever you are...and whatever you do, unless you have that "little voice" inside your head under YOUR control - you will never succeed.

Unless YOU have YOU on your side...then you will be struggling before you even start!

So...

- STOP blaming yourself for what you have (or haven't) done to get to where you are now.

- STOP putting your talents down. You have more skills than you realize.

- STOP thinking about why you can't do something...and instead focus on why you CAN!

- STOP blaming other people. YOU are totally responsible for the outcome of YOUR life...nobody else.

- STOP comparing yourself to other people. Whatever measure you use...you will always find a way to tell yourself that you are 'second-best' compared to them!

- STOP wishing it was different...and start ACTING as if it was!

- STOP focusing on your 'weaknesses'...and instead look at how you can leverage your strengths.

- STOP looking at things going wrong as failure. The only time you fail at something is if you repeat the same mistake after not having learned the lesson from it the first time!

- STOP telling yourself that other people are 'lucky'. Luck is something that is a natural by-product of a positive attitude followed by action!

So...think about how YOU, and not your external circumstances, might be holding you back.

What little ways can you begin to start making sure that YOU are on your own side?

I Hold You Accountable To Succeed!

On October 6th...I wrote about what I believe the most important thing where success is concerned. You can read about it here (and...I also strongly suggest that you read some of the comments about what other people think it is).

Although I've mentioned it many times in the past...I thought that, this time, I'll come right out and say it...

ACCOUNTABILITY!

Go on - disagree with me if you like!

Why do I believe that accountability is more important than things like belief, attitude, focus, action...and everything else?

Well...you can do each of those things...but unless you have some form of accountability built into what you do...you will eventually 'run out of steam'.

Don't believe me?

Well...I KNOW for a fact that I wouldn't write this every day unless I felt in some way accountable to YOU for doing it.

Want another example?

Take my "Truth About Success" five week Mentor Program that I conducted during the summer...

Each week...the nine students were REQUIRED to spend about two hours a week (and some a lot more) answering the self-analysis questions I set them.

As a little test of my accountability theory...I told them that if they didn't send in their answers by Sunday every week - they would be kicked off of the Program.

Not only that...all nine students had a photo and details up on the Program website - so that everyone would know who they were.

I know for a FACT that these E-class-type Programs are usually excellent gravy-trains for the teachers who offer them. Why?

Well...when I spoke to a well-known Internet Marketing 'guru'...he told me that it was money for literally nothing...as practically NOBODY answered the questions that they were set! That meant that the 'teacher' had very little work to 'mark'!

So...as I wanted MY Program to actually be value for money...I held my students accountable to me and their fellow students for completing the Program.

Guess how many went through the entire Program...and answered over 110 questions about themselves over that period (as well as contributing to five one-hour teleclasses).

Nine...out of nine!

And...EVERY single student has told me since they completed the course that it was the FIRST time that they had EVER done the exercises whether in a book or a class format!

They were ALL committed. They ALL had the motivation to change. They ALL had the right attitudes. They ALL had the belief that they could be a success.

But...in the past...it hadn't made the slightest difference.

And, on the Program it DID. Just because they were accountable.

One final example...

There is a famous coach who offers a Program for those entrepreneurs who earn over $200,000 a year. It costs in the region of $4,000 a year I believe.

It requires them to attend a workshop (amongst other things) every 90 days.

Remember...these people are high-achievers...motivated to succeed.

When the Program started...this coach found that very few people actually turned up...usually have found some work-related excuses not to.

The coach was getting their money...but they weren't getting THEIR value from it!

So...he worked out a way to GUARANTEE that his 'clients' turned up.

He now charges his clients THREE YEARS charges UP FRONT!

Now...every single one of them turns up because as they have REALLY paid for it...they'd better use it!

But...the thing is...they are now getting amazing RESULTS from the Program.

----

So...I look at what works for ME...and what works for other people...

Don't you think that, if high-powered entrepreneurs need accountability in some form to succeed...don't you think that YOU and I need it to?

It's A Compromise...But It Needs To Be Done

Whether we like it or not...life is about compromise.

If I was single, then I know that I would work 18-hour-days and all weekend.

But, because I have Lesley and Katie...that's not an option (if I want to keep them, that is)

Today, for example, I am all 'hyped-up' about a new project that I am working on...and would glady work until the small hours on it so that I could get it out today.

But, it's 8pm...and there's a TV programme that Lesley and I usually watch together that's just about to start.

The 'old' me would have carried on working...because I would have been too focused on 'me' instead of looking at the 'bigger picture'.

My new project can be a day or two late...my relationship with my wife won't!

What about you - do you find it difficult to balance the new focused you with a relationship with someone?

It's not always easy to do...especially if they don't 'agree' with the new you!

It's all about balance. Unless you give a little now...then you won't have much leeway when you REALLY need to do something that may be critical.

Also...don't feel bad towards your family...it's not too much to ask to want to spend some time with you, is it?

Just remember those times when you were a lonely teenager - wishing that you had a boyfriend or girlfriend!

Don't take your family and friends for granted. Without them - you will never be able to call yourself a true success in life.

Are You Clogging Up YOUR Success Channels?

It's not very often that I can't find something to ramble on about.

Today is one of those days!

But...even though I don't know what I'm going to say...I just START.

(I've mentioned this before in my ezine).

Whenever I feel that I'm at a loss for something to write about...I just write what comes into my head.

Then...once I start...I realize that, because that first sentence is written...another thought follows it...and then another...and another.

It's amazing what your mind does when you throw it something to 'play' with.

That's why I hate watching TV just for the sake of it. Most of it is negative 'supposed-real-life-gritty-drama' stuff...or some other piece of 'educational-yet-not-very-useful-to-where-I-want-to-go' type stuff.

Why should I fill my senses with thoughts that don't help me get to where I want to go one tiny little bit?

Sure...I love the odd dose of reality TV (if it's got a good angle)...but I do so because it stimulates conversation, and gives me the opportunity to 'preach' to Lesley why so-and-so should be acting like 'x' instead of 'y'!

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the ONLY thing that YOU control are your thoughts...so make sure that you feed your mind with some 'good stuff' instead of 'sludge'!

Unfortunately...most TV and newspapers are the WORST thing for clogging up your success channels!

I ask practically all of the successful people I meet how much TV they watch...and whether they read a newspaper.

You can guess their answer!

The Time THAT Takes Is Seconds...

Today I had one of those days where I had an amazingly productive morning...and was unable to do practically anything during the afternoon!

But...instead of getting annoyed with myself for not being 'good' in the afternoon...I reminded myself that I had achieved a day's work of creating stuff in the morning.

You see...it wasn't the amount of work that concerns me...it's the quality of it that is the key to my future success.

What about you...do you get hung up over the time you actually spent doing something instead of looking at what you DID achieve?

Unfortunately...we've been conditioned to think that the AMOUNT of what we do is more important than WHAT we actually achieve.

Think about it for a moment.

This morning, for example, I had an idea come to me (funnily enough whilst I was in the bathroom!).

It probably took milliseconds to appear in my mind...but the beauty and the simplicity of it could mean that, if everything went according to plan...the sky could literally be the limit!

Of course...nothing may come of it (but perhaps I KNOW otherwise!)...but how long did it take for that idea to appear? No time at all.

So...don't beat yourself up if you don't always 'act' in the way you think you should be.

The sole common denominator amongst successful people is that they have ideas...and run with them.

And, I'm sure that they'd agree that the hardest part is coming up with them!

And all THAT takes is seconds...

You May Call It A Risk...I Call It Fun!

Today is Lesley's 34th birthday.

Being the dutiful husband I am, aside from buying her some flowers, I also reminded her that, as of tomorrow, she'll be closer to fifty than eighteen!

I'm still nursing the bruises!

All joking aside, doesn't it seem that the older you get, the amount of disbelief that you are actually NOT 'young' increases?

On 8th December I will be 34. Now...that may be younger than you, or older than you.

But...to me, whatever age you are is irrelevant.

In the last five years, I have done things, or had things happen to me (both good and bad) that I would have never dreamed of in the 29 years previously.

And...in the last 2 years alone, I have become a person that bears absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to who I was even 3 years ago! (but in a nice way, of course)

As the birthdays seem to speed up...it's easy to wish our lives away.

One guy where I used to work was 34 at the time...and he was staying put in his job because he could retire on a full pension at age 60! What sort of life is that?

It's all down to managing risk.

I was accused the other night of taking a risk with my family's future because I gave up a 'secure' and well-paying job to work for myself...so that I could live the lifestyle I wanted to.

My argument with that is...isn't risk something that is PERCEIVED in your future?

I don't call what I do as a risk if it means that I can spend time with my wife and daughter every day...and I can challenge myself on a number of different levels as I grow my business.

As Lesley said to me the other day - "It's hardly a risk if we can both go back to a 9-5 job if we had to."

As I get older my timeframes change.

I've stopped wishing that I was somewhere in the future...and instead I work on making the NOW as good as it could possibly be.

Is that risky? Maybe...but it certainly makes life more enjoyable!

What about you...do you agree with my views on what's risky?

If You Don't Look For This...Then You Will Never Find It!

Do you know where your strengths?

I mean...do you REALLY know what you are GOOD at?

Or...perhaps you are too concerned with trying to improve your weaknesses to notice.

The other night I was called "lucky" because my job enabled me to spend time at home with my family etc.

My answer was that I wasn't lucky...I was just being true to where my REAL talents lie...and was making the most of them to craft the sort of lifestyle I want.

Still...the reply came back that I was lucky because I had found something that I was good at.

'Found' being the crucial word here.

Remember...it is less than two years since I first started writing about this stuff...and just over 18 months since I put my first website up.

Yet...to some, I am classed (and paid as) an expert in both personal development...and Internet marketing.

These weren't skills that I was even aware that I had until two years ago, remember.

It's a crucial thing to remember that, unless it's blindingly obvious where your talent is, for most of us, we need to literally 'discover' what it is!

For fifteen years I spent my time wishing that I could do this, or could change that...without ever really doing it.

Know that feeling?

Now, I have realized that the ONLY way you will discover your natural talents that could make your fortune is by LOOKING for them!

So...instead of trying to correct that particular 'problem' you have with your personality...work on pushing the boundaries of what comes NATURALLY to you!

It was only when I put my family's financial future on the block that I FOUND that I was able to do what I earn a living from now.

YOU (yes, you!) have a talent in something that far surpasses 99% of the world's population, but, I guarantee that, if you don't look for it...then you will never find it!

So...let's begin by finding out what you have a TALENT for...it's YOUR turn to admit to the world that you ARE good at something!

So...what is it?

Your Money Or Your Wife?

I had an interesting 'discussion' last night with the father of one of Katie's schoolfriends.

He said that he was doing the best thing for his family by working away from home for 3 days a week...and by focusing on earning as much money as he could so that he could retire at age 50 (in 15 years' time).

Sound familiar?

He also said that on a number of occasions, his work would come ahead of his family because..."I've got the next 40-60 years to spend with my family".

I heard the familiar 'reason' for doing what he did, as, because he wanted the 'best' for his children...it made sense for him to work as hard as he could...and earn as much money as he could.

He didn't agree that, in fifteen years' time, his daughter (who would then be 22) might not even care about a father who was 'absent' for a lot of her youth.

The thing is...I could empathise with him, because I WAS like that a few years ago (albeit to a lesser degree).

But...he couldn't 'get' that what was important were what the needs of his wife and children were NOW...and not in fifteen years' time!

What do YOU think?

Am I wrong to dismiss possible ASSUMED future 'financial' happiness at the expense of having a much better family life NOW, today?

Are YOU Compounding Your Little Efforts?

Every now and again...I like to take a few chances.

I know that, unless I make a split-second decision occasionally...then I might as well just be happy with where I am.

Now...don't get me wrong...I AM happy where I am...I am just constantly on the 'lookout' for ways to improve myself, my business, and my relationships.

I've realized that the ONLY way that you can possibly develop from where you is by accepting that you MUST make small improvements REGULARLY in EVERYTHING that you do!

So...I try to come up with a slightly better product than the last one.
I try to push myself that little bit further than I feel comfortable with.
I try to challenge that little voice in my head that says..."You won't be able to do..."
I try to make that little bit more effort where Katie and Lesley are concerned.
I try to give YOU for free a little bit more than ANYONE else.

Guess what?

I'm winning!

I'm winning because I KNOW that, even though I can't really see the results of my extra efforts on a daily basis...over time they are compounding to make my ideal future happen.

Are YOU compounding your little efforts?

It's not that easy to do, I know...but you HAVE to just be that little bit more creative, that little bit more generous, that little bit more positive.

The little things do make a HUGE difference, believe me.

A Change Will Do You Good

What do you think of when someone mentions change?

Do you break out in a cold sweat at the very thought of doing something different?

Or...do you look at change as something that you can take advantage of?

It's important to realize that change is happening ALL of the time.

You grow older. Your knowledge increases. Your experiences are building...one of top of the other...to make you who you are.

I used to hate change, that was until I realized that I could use it as an opportunity. An opportunity to step back and take a good look at why I was doing what I did up until that point.

Sure...it takes some getting used to.

But, believe me, once you learn to embrace change (and, perhaps even welcome it!)...then instead of making your life harder, it can make it a lot easier.

It stops you from getting bored...and, more importantly, it enables you to move forward in some way because of the experience.

So...next time you are faced with change...stop and take a look at how you can use it FOR you...instead of how you can use it as an excuse!

Is That A Red Light? No...It's Definitely Green!

I'll be honest with you...

Today, I set in motion a brand new project.

And...?

Well...you see, the thing is, I haven't got a clue how I am going to do everything to make it happen the way I want it to.

There are technical things I don't know how to do. There are logistical things I'm not quite sure of. There is content that needs to be delivered to deadlines without fail that I'm wondering how I'm going to achieve.

Let me ask you...would you let all this stop YOU?

A year ago...it would have stopped ME!

But, I'm now taking a leaf out of some seriously successful peoples' books.

I KNOW that what I NEED to do isn't IMPOSSIBLE...just 'difficult'!

I KNOW that I don't NEED to know EVERYTHING before I begin a project.

I KNOW that if it doesn't quite work out the way I want it to...it will be a CHALLENGE along the way to make it happen!

Do YOU look at the 'unknowns' in your life as a red light...or do you live your life on 'green'?

I know what I would choose EVERY time...and, it stops life being monotonous and boring, doesn't it?

So...what would YOU choose?

The Time To Start Is NOW!

Ever since we lost Connor, I've come to consider myself fortunate to have many things that I took for granted for too many years.

What about you?

Do you really appreciate how LUCKY you really are?

It's such a shame that it took both Connor's birth...and his untimely loss...to literally 'wake me up' to what I should look for out of my life.

In the months after his birth...I fought (and ultimately won) against my conditioning of job security and a career, with the 'guaranteed' monthly income that came with it.

Since we lost him in February...I've come to realize that my 'freedom', and the strength of my relationship with Lesley and Katie, are FAR more important than any amount of money that I COULD earn...if perhaps I 'worked a little harder'.

Are YOU still struggling with how you define what's REALLY important in your life?

I agree that it's not an easy decision to make to stop focusing on a monetary figure as your 'goal'.

I also agree that it's not an easy decision to make to stop looking for what you haven't got...instead of focusing on what you HAVE.

From my own experience...I spent at least 15 years doing EXACTLY that!

So...don't wait until you get a serious 'wake-up' call like I did. I wouldn't wish my worst 'enemies' to go through what we have over the last five years or so.

And...although I KNOW that it would focus your life on a much more balanced future...the last thing I would want would be for something like what happened to us...to happen to YOU.

The time to start focusing on what's important is NOW...so don't put it off until it is 'too late'!

What are YOU going to do about it?

Success Is There For You...You Just Need To Keep Looking

Can I ask you a question?

"What motivates and excites you?"

I mean REALLY motivates and excites you?

Does anything keep nagging at you when you're watching TV...or when you're trying to get to sleep at night?

You see...whether I like it or not...I can't stop the flood of ideas coming into MY head about what I want to do...

Both now...and in the future.
On a personal...and a business level.

My brain literally doesn't stop...because I am constantly looking for ways to improve my understanding both of myself AND of my 'business'.

What about you...is there ANYTHING that grabs your mind like a pit-bull...and won't let go?

What gets you really 'psyched up' and raring to go?

There must be SOMETHING!

If there isn't, then perhaps you should broadening your horizons a little bit further.

For fifteen years I read personal development books...and never had the slightest clue that I could actually WRITE the stuff!

I wonder where I would be now if I started this even two years earlier?

It's NEVER too late! In fact...some of the most prolific and respected personal development 'gurus' didn't 'get it' until their forties or fifties!

And...it's a well-known fact that Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame didn't even BEGIN his business until after his 65th birthday.

So...it's NEVER too late.

The only thing that will stop you from finding out who you really ARE...and what you really want to DO is if you stop looking.

The path to your future happiness and success is there...just for you.

You just need to try, and try, and try again until you find it! (Just like I have)

It's Not The Straight Path To Success You Want!

It may surprise you...but how successful you become isn't necessarily relevant to where you end up!

What I mean is...it's not the achievement of your goal that makes you into a successful person...it's the opportunities that come your way BECAUSE you are aiming for it!

Take me, for example.

I only got an opportunity to become a speaker because I went to a seminar that didn't really have a whole lot to do with what I was doing online at the time.

But...through a series of events that arose from that...I have been able to literally force myself to speak in public, do teleclasses...and have the self-confidence to run my Mentor Program during the summer.

But...none of this would have happened if I wasn't trying to learn more about MYSELF as well as the business I had chosen to be in!

And...in a funny sort of roundabout way...what I learned from doing the stuff that wasn't necessarily what I would have imagined...has resulted in helping me move in the direction that I wanted to go all along!

And...all because I was pushing my boundaries and making more of an effort than I had ever done before.

A lot of people look at things not going in the way they imagined as a negative thing...when in fact, it could be the BEST thing that could ever of happened to them...which, in turn, contributes more to their success than they realize.

So...don't worry if your path to success doesn't seem as 'straight' as you would like.

It's usually the little detours that will have the biggest impact of your future!

The Key To Repeating The Same Mistake THREE Times

Back on July 10th...I managed to lock us out of the house with the spare key in the other side of the door. (You can read about what happened here)

At the time...this is what I wrote...

"Who said that you can't (eventually) learn from things that happen to you...even if it does take TWO attempts to remind you!

And...if we ever get locked out and can't easily get back in again...then it IS my fault!"

Guess what happened today?

Lesley locked us out with my key still in the back of the door!

Even though it was her 'fault'...I was angry with myself because this meant that, along with the front door, we had also left keys in both of the back doors! (even though I said at the time that we shouldn't).

Ever had something happen to you like that when you KNOW that you should have done something at the time...didn't...and had to pay the consequences?

So...just in case I didn't get the message from the two previous efforts of locking ourselves out (both times we managed to get back in)...this time we spent a couple of hours trying...and couldn't.

So...I'm now a wasted afternoon and $70 down for calling out for a locksmith!

Do you think that I'll learn my lesson NOW?

I purposely make sure that I don't repeat 'mistakes' in most areas of my life because I KNOW what effect they can have of holding me back...but, it seems that I still need to improve on a few more things!

So...What Do YOU Want?

Not for the first time...I want to ask you a serious question!

You see...I have a need for RESULTS!

I've got many things planned for the near future as I mentioned yesterday...but I'm not happy with that.

A huge part of why I do this is the testing my ability to juggle earning a living with helping you as much as possible.

Hopefully...I am succeeding to some degree so far.

But...it's not good ENOUGH!

I don't want to be another of those people that just 'churns out' personal development stuff...I want to make a DIFFERENCE.

You know my story (if you don't...it's here)...and I am living proof that it is possible to make things happen despite NOTHING happening for 15 years!

And...I want to help YOU make a difference to YOUR life!

Now...this isn't some hypey 'sales pitch'...I'm not selling anything.

All I want to know is HOW I can deliver to you what YOU want. I have many ideas flying around in my head...but they're meaningless unless YOU are involved!

So...what's it to be? What can I do to help YOU make your life that little bit more successful?

I'm Going To Do This...What About YOU?

Leading on from what I was talking about accountability yesterday...it's that time again when, whether you realize it or not...YOU help me to get things done!

So...with that in mind...

By Christmas (this year, of course!)...I will have released...

1) My first hour-long audio CD
2) The home study version of my "Truth About Success" Mentor Program
3) An enhancement to my "Law of Success" package
4) At least one teleclass series
5) The audios for my "To Our Success" E-course
6) Something exciting that, for the moment anyway, I'm keeping to myself!

Add to the fact that I have two overseas seminars to speak at and am moving house within the next few weeks...then it's going to be a FUN time!

What about YOU...what will YOU achieve within the next couple of months?

Whether you a solo-entrepreneur like me, a career-person, or a homemaker...you MUST to have something to AIM for!

So...now is the time for you to announce to US what YOU are going to achieve before Christmas.

In my mind...this 'exercise' should be MANDATORY if you want to have a more successful life.

Again...only if you're serious should you take up the 'challenge'!

Here's How I Do It...Even When I Can't Be Bothered!

Today is the 25th consecutive day that I have written something on this website.

Now...I'm not saying that to 'boast'...I'm merely drawing your attention to the fact that it IS possible to continue to do something...even when, before you do it, you haven't a CLUE what you are going to do!

I'll be honest with you...some days...I wonder where I am going to get any inspiration from.

But...I still FORCE myself to write SOMETHING.

And usually...that something ends up not too bad (I hope!).

How do I keep on writing something...even when I often 'can't be bothered'?

Well...I know that I HAVE to, that's why!

What do I mean?

I mean that, when I started this little exercise, I told you that I would be writing at least five days a week (barring 'life' getting in the way)...so I WANT to stick with my 'promise' to you!

I don't want to let you down.

Of course, at the same time...I also KNOW that the very ACTION of thinking of something USEFUL to write is an excellent 'habit' to have.

Plus...I am creating content that I can use in the future.

And...writing down my thoughts helps ME focus on how I can develop...at the same time as trying to help you!

So...even though it can sometimes be a 'painful' process to come up with something...I know that, as long as I start...I'll finish!

It's a lesson that I can highly recommend.

So...get going...and START something that, because you are accountable to somebody else, you'll commit to.

That way...you'll have less of an excuse not to do it!

It Costs Money...But I Was Given It Earlier!

Another day of 'fun and games' on my house-moving front!

Out of nowhere it appears that we need to have some indemnity insurance for some work that was done way before our time...with no easy way out of it!

A bill of around $370 out-of-the-blue is never welcome!

But...

At the end of last week I was asked by someone if I could coach them...and my fees are $400 a month.

Take away credit card processing fees etc...and I come out a little ahead.

It's just a shame that Lesley doesn't see it that way...she just thinks that this whole episode has COST me money!

What do YOU think?

I would have agreed with her a few months ago...but I now KNOW that it wasn't just 'coincidence' that someone ASKED me to coach them (the thought hadn't even crossed my mind during our conversation!).

When you have a 'lack' mentality where money is concerned you do tend to forget that you are no 'worse off' than you were last week.

Just try telling Lesley that!

And...would you call it 'coincidence' that my first coaching call with this person was...about an hour after we received the bill!

They Say It Isn't Important...I Say It's THE Most Important!

I've found out perhaps one of THE most important things you need to consider where success is concerned.

Want to know what it is?

I'll give you a clue...it's something that YOU don't have to do!

Confused?

It's something that a lot of even the top 'names' tell you isn't important (in fact...I was at a seminar the other week when the speaker said that it had NOTHING to do with how successful you can be!).

Well...I disagree.

My Truth About Success Mentor Program students know EXACTLY what it is...because every single one of them completed the entire five week Program...despite not finishing ones they had taken previously.

And that was even though it took around two hours (at least) a week out of their very busy schedules!

Want to know what it is?

Well...I'll tell you in a few days.

But first...I want to know what YOU think it could be (just for fun of course!).

I'll be interested to see what your answer could be!

They Are What You Are Here For!

Do you know what you're REALLY good at?

No?

Why not?

After all...if you are good at something that usually makes you BETTER at that very thing compared to most people.

You might even be good at something...but you haven't yet found out what it is yet!

Take me, for example. Up until less than two years ago...the only words I had ever written on ANY subject were reports and appraisals at the bank where I worked!

Now...I KNOW that I am good at getting my point across about personal development using the written word.

But...for fifteen years...I had a talent that I didn't even know that I had!

And...that talent is now the basis for my future financial security!

So...just because you may not currently realize that you DO have a talent...don't let it stop you.

Just 'get out there' and start making some improvements in your life on a daily basis.

Force yourself to do those exercises in all those books you read...or to apply what you read to what you're doing.

The only way that your TRUE talent will emerge is by you growing out of the position (mentally, physically, emotionally...and monetarily) that you are currently in.

Start tomorrow to commit just five or ten minutes EVERY day to making more of your undoubted talents.

After all, they are what YOU are here for!

What NOW? Forget About The Future!

OK...let's forget the future for a while...and focus on the NOW!

What about where your life is at THIS EXACT MOMENT is really 'right'?

Stop reading this for a couple of seconds and give it some thought...

Well?

Now...compare it to what you feel your ideal LIFESTYLE should be like.

So...what do you already HAVE now that you want as part of your future?

Perhaps a little more than you think? I hope so!

Too many people will tell you that you should make all those changes in your life...when in reality...you should be just focusing on enjoying what you DO have that's good already!

So focus on those things you CURRENTLY love...and do more of them...

It may be:

- spending more time playing with your kids
- walking the dog in the park
- having a coffee with your friends
- going to the cinema
- having a kiss and cuddle with your spouse

Wouldn't you still WANT to do those sort of things AFTER you've earned your millions?

So...just do more of them - NOW!

Most of them won't cost you a single penny...so you can 'afford' to do more of them...whatever your financial situation.

It's the quickest way I know to really make the MOST of your life.

The Wisdom Of A Girl Called Katie

"What would you choose if Daddy said that you could either have a day out on Sunday or have ten pounds?"

Lesley was testing Katie (who's 7 years old)...to prove me wrong when I say that even children would rather have time with their parents instead of money.

It took Katie a couple of minutes to decide...

She answered...

"I would rather have a day out on Sunday instead of the money...because it's only money and family is more important!"

She carried on...

"Money is not important. Money is just what you buy something with."

Now...this wasn't a 'set-up'...as this conversation only came about when I asked Katie what I could write about today!

And...that was when Lesley thought that it would be 'fun' to prove me wrong!

Except...Katie (albeit after some serious deliberation - "Oh...those are two of my favorite things!") knows what matters most to her.

Perhaps there is a lesson here for us all!

P.S. Here's something that Katie wanted to say...

"Daddy was benning silly about saying would you like a day out on sunnday or ten, ponds. And I chorse a day out on sunnday and money isent inportent that mutch. But famliys most inportent."

It's Only Too Late If You're Not In Control

I had a phone conversation with a possible joint venture partner today.

And...I surprised myself by how I thought about the possible benefits from doing a 'deal'.

Because I now focus on the QUALITY of my lifestyle as opposed to the QUANTITY of money I earn from it...my entire way of thinking has changed.

"Sure"...you might think, "...but you are working for yourself...and don't have a crappy job to go to!"

And...you're right to think that, of course.

BUT...it's irrelevant WHAT you are doing when you are talking about how happy your life should be!

You may be in a 'bad' job...but WHY are you?

You may be there 'for the money'...but what use is that if it makes you and your family miserable?

Whether you realize it or not...YOU are in COMPLETE control of YOUR situation!

Two years ago...when I couldn't stand it any longer...I quit my then-well-paying job...kissed goodbye to supposed 'job security'...and finally did what I had always wanted to do (but never quite got around to)...work for myself.

I told Lesley that I needed to be at home...and that, if I wasn't earning a similar income after a year to what I was on when I quit...then I would go back to a 9-5. Two years on...and I'm NEVER going back!

It's amazing how much more focused you become when you are SOLELY accountable to yourself!

Remember...I DIDN'T have any savings to fall back on...just a few hundred dollars a month from government payments for Connor and his disabilities.

YOU may not be in such mental turmoil that you HAVE to do something.

So...make the MOST of what you DO get from doing what you do!

Life's to short to regret spending 40+ hours a week of it hating every moment of it!

Imagine what that sort of thinking is CREATING in your life? All of that mental negativity will literally create the bad luck that you are trying to run away from.

So...stop feeling sorry for yourself...and DO something, ANYTHING, that makes you more happy...even for a few hours a week!

And, please, think about what you ALREADY have going for you that you perhaps don't realize how lucky you are to have.

Things like...a spouse, your kids, a house, a car that works, weekends...I could go on and on (and on!)

Just look to what you LIKE about whatever you do...and TRY and do MORE of it.

And...look at what you don't like doing...and either work out a way to do LESS of it...or challenge yourself to really put the extra effort in to make the MOST of it!

You will only attract the sort of lifestyle you REALLY want if you make the most of where you ALREADY are first!

Hey You! Yes, You! I'm Doing This Because of YOU!

Almost every day...I haven't got a CLUE about what I'm going to write about here!

But...although most of the time it would be easier to not bother...something literally FORCES me to write!

Well, two things, actually.

They are:

1) The force of habit
2) The force of accountability

Because this blog is the last thing that I ALWAYS do before I turn my PC off at night...it feels, well, strange not to do it!

It's not that I 'miss' it when I am travelling...but it is something that is almost essential to do when I am working at home.

Because I have set aside a time for it (just before I turn my PC off)...and because I do it practically every day...I have built myself a little habit which certainly won't do me any harm in the future.

Which leads me on to the second part...accountability.

Look...I am as lazy as anyone else! lol

If I don't have a very good reason...or a compelling desire to do something...then my subconscious will automatically find something more interesting for me to focus on!

So...that's why I need some form of accountability built into what I do.

And...that's where YOU come in!

You see...when I first started this I announced to my ezine subscribers that I would write something at least five days a week.

Of course...when life gets in the way (especially earlier in the year) that has not always been possible.

But...the very fact that I am accountable to YOU to come up with something readable practically every day means that I make an extra special effort to actually DO it!

So...there you have it....my simple 2-step for making sure that things get done.

If you think about it...it's a lot easier to follow through on something when it's become a habit...and you're accountable in some way to someone else for its completion.

It's simple...but it works! Try it and see for yourself.
