We're Doomed!

Only three or so weeks in...and I missed a weekday posting!

I was offline for most of yesterday as I was having my home office redesigned as Lesley will be helping me with my more mundane admin tasks.

When I got back online today, I found some emails from subscribers to the ezine saying that they were unable to unsubscribe. This sometimes happens as AOL can get confused with the long unsubscribe URL. But when I went to manually delete the addresses - I found that my mailing list provider was showing that I had around 6,000 people on my list instead of the 14,000+ that were on there yesterday!

I know that a few people unsubscribe, but 8,000 in one day was ridiculous! lol

To cut a long story short - they were unable to reinstate my list to its proper number - and in one case I had 297 more subscribers than when I started! Luckily (well, it wasn't down to luck really), I always take a copy of my mailing list before I send out an ezine. You can never be too careful where the key to your online business is concerned!

It could have easily turned into 'one of those days' as practically every person who bought one of my ebooks over the last couple of days seemed to be having problems accessing the files! All was sorted out in the end - but I could have easily have 'blown my top' and started to moan at how unlucky I was.

If you know me well enough - you know that I never let these sort of things get to me - and neither should you. There will always be days where whatever can go wrong will go wrong - but, hey, that's life! You can either rise to the challenges or complain about the problems. It's you and you alone who decide which one you choose.

Lesson from Vacation #2

It fascinates me to watch how other people look after their children.

I lost count of the number of times a certain toddler would knock things over, and generally be a nuisance whilst we were sitting in the 'club' in the evenings. The parents would quite happily drink away - whilst their three year old was coming up to people it didn't know.

Straight away - Lesley and myself commented that we couldn't believe how some parents just let their children run wild, without the slightest concern for others. Maybe it's just me - but I like to know what Katie (who's 6) is doing wherever we are as you never can be too careful where children are concerned.

I realised that we were judging these parents solely on our perception of their abilities as a 'good' parent. They could have been the nicest people you could possibly meet - yet we had already made our minds up about them.

It's the same in any walk of life. If you like to gossip at work - people will automatically form a certain impression of you that almost certainly won't reflect you in a good light. If you are late wherever you go - people will form a certain opinion of you - even if they don't know you.

Perception is a very dangerous thing when it is 'against' you. You may be the best parent, or manager - yet you will be judged primarily by the impression that you give - and not necessarily by you skills or output.

Be on your guard against yourself - sometimes you can be your own worst enemy!

The Steepest Learning Curve Money Can Buy!

I've put myself on a serious learning curve over the last couple of weeks - one which will be continuing for at least another month or so.

I've decided that my first efforts at copywriting for my websites are OK - but need to do much better if I want to achieve the life I desire. So far I have bought (and read, highlighted, and summarized) three ebooks - and I have also read three hardback books. All in the last two weeks or so!. Thanks to my vacation - I was able to to focus on reading and learning for a couple of extra hours every day last week.

But...

As I was going through my hard drive I realised that I probably already have all of the information that I need to achieve my aims. And guess what - practically all of it I got for free from various sites on the 'net. I almost found myself buying at least two or three new ebooks on the subject (I'm an information junkie!) - but once I realised that I could save myself $100+, I decided that I should use the information that I already have before I go on another credit card spree.

The easy option would be to 'persuade' myself that the new 'exciting' ebooks are better than the millions of words of free information that I have already got...but I would be wrong. Never get 'sucked in' to the buying process when you have everything that you need available for free.

The playing field has never been as level as it is now. Don't pass up the opportunity to learn what you need to be a success in whatever subject your strength lies. And never, ever, write off something because it's free!

Ah...The Joys Of Waiting In Line!

I queued (waited in line) for approximately five minutes at my local bank to pay some money in today.

During that time I heard:

- 3 sighs from the man in front of me
- A "There seems to be more staff walking around than serving" from the old lady behind me
- A young girl moan about wasting her time and walking out!

All in five minutes! The bank wasn't that busy - it was only 10 a.m. - yet I seemed to be the only person that wasn't getting stressed over the amount of time I was waiting. Why wasn't I? Well, I wasn't because there was absolutely nothing I could do about it!. It happens all the time, everywhere. A train is cancelled. A pile-up causes a traffic jam. Someone doesn't so what they're supposed to. SO WHAT?

Letting the little 'niggles' of life get to you just drains your energy. It makes you miserable and wastes valuable 'thinking time'. If you find yourself in a situation that is annoying, but you can't do anything about it - don't let it get to you! Just accept that these things can, and will, happen regularly in our lives and there is no point in letting them 'ruin' your whole day.

Peter Sellers...And What You Can Learn From Him

I watched a fascinating documentary the other night about the late, great comic genius that was Peter Sellers.

If you're too young to remember the Pink Panther films - make sure that you get them on video! He was perhaps one of the most talented character actors ever (in my opinion) - who could play anyone from an American, Indian, or Frenchman - and still be totally believable. He died in 1980 through a heart attack - a life cruelly cut short. (Just after the release of second-to-last, and perhaps my favorite, of his films - Being There - which showed his amazing capacity at playing a non-comic actor as well as anybody else (he narrowly lost out as Best Actor on Oscar night to Dustin Hoffman for Kramer vs Kramer)

What people didn't know was that, behind this amazing comic persona was a man who was seriously insecure and disbelieving of his talents. He would cry himself to sleep at night, and criticise every single facet of what others would call immaculate performances. He struggled to maintain happy relationships - primarily because of his need to be 'loved' at all costs. A flawed genius, maybe - but a great man.

Don't waste your life like he did - worrying about what other people think of you, and focusing on how 'bad' you are at 'everything'. Life is a one-shot game - it's the only one we're going to have. Make the most of it. Enjoy it. Appreciate the part you play in the lives of others and never, ever, undervalue or ignore the values you bring into other people's lives. Cherish your strengths and push aside your weaknesses - and never let anyone tell you that you aren't 'good enough' to achieve whatever you truly desire.

Lesson from Vacation #1

We came home via Thorpe Park theme park. We were there for over seven hours - and in that time we managed to go on nine rides! The queues ranged from 20 minutes to almost an hour for the newest - a 10 loop rollercoaster called Collosus.

As I stood there with all these hundreds of people patiently stepping a few paces every thirty seconds or so - I had one of my 'thoughts'.

Why don't we approach our goals in the same way?

You see, I queued for nearly an hour to go on a ride that took perhaps 30 seconds at most. Yes it was fun, scary, and exhilarating all at the same time - but what else would you patiently queue for so long in return for so 'little'? Imagine if you looked upon your dream as if it was that rollercoater. Wouldn't you gladly 'queue', spend time and a lot of money - just for the experience and thrill of achieving your goal?

In monetary terms - it probably worked out at around $5 to go on each ride when you take into account the entrance fee to the park. I would perhaps baulk at paying so much per ride at a fair - yet I gladly paid up and waited...

Another thing about the queuing. Isn't it amazing how they make it look as if you are much closer to the ride than you really are? The line snakes backwards and forwards - and you never really get to see exactly how far you've got to go. Because our dreams are often so far ahead of us - we tend to forget that we are already in the 'queue', and that as long as we keep taking those little, regular steps - up and down, backwards and forwards, eventually we will get there..

Sometimes you may seem further away than when you started - but believe me, it's just life's way of controlling the 'queue' to your success.

It All 'Ads' Up To A Mistake!

A couple of days ago I decided that I should start running ezine ads for The Science of Success. I found an ezine that appeared quite reasonable relative to what I had in mind. So - ad placed, I waited to receive my issue - and the increase in sales!

I woke this morning, checked my email - and realised that, even after writing about it a couple of days ago - I had assumed something!

I had assumed that my ad would be right at the top. Why? Well -single ads tend to be in ezines, don't they? Guess where mine was? Right at the bottom, just before the goodbye! lol In my eagerness to expand my marketing - I forget the obvious thing - check what you are going to pay for! I have been a subscriber for some time to this ezine - so it would have been a very simple thing to do to find out where the ads were. Even if there weren't usually any - I should have clarified exactly where mine was going to go!

Another thing which 'fate' decided to remind me of my stupidity became apparent when I read the ezine. Right at the very beginning, the middle, and even near the end - the author announced his own new ebook to his adoring readers! What hope had I of getting noticed when most of the readers would have clicked away and got lost in buying his book - and probably would never come back to read the rest of the ezine!

It was a timely reminder that, yes, indeed, I am human, and not perhaps as clever as I thought I was! I could curse my luck at the timing, and the placement of the ad - but luck had nothing to do with it! This 'failed' (only time will tell) exercise will give me an excellent lesson in making sure that I understand exactly what 'bang' I get from my bucks!

I'll soon be off on a PC free vacation until next Friday 23rd August, when normal daily service (could you call it that?) will be resumed. Vacation ahoy!

Let's Go On A Vacation

We're off on vacation tomorrow (or on holiday as us Brits like to call it!).

The day before is always such a frenzied rush - especially for us! Connor has to have all of his medical gear packed up in two suitcases - and mine, Lesley's, and Katie's things all go in two more. Connor is off to a wonderful respite home for 10 days, while we go to a place in the Forest of Dean, near the Welsh border.

Charging around as we are doing - Lesley organizing the packing, me organizing my business - it reminds me of how much we 'underachieve' compared to the day before we go away. We make a list of tasks to complete, we make sure that everything is taken care of - yet, on a normal day, we might not bother to finish that task because, well, there's always tomorrow.

Well, tommorrow always turns into today - it never comes.

Why not play a pretend game with me? Let's pretend that you are going on vacation tomorrow...just like me.

What would you do to make sure that you finished everything?
How would you go about planning your day?
What will you 'reward' yourself with, once you complete everything?

Try it, just for one day. You know that you can do it because you manage to do it (like me) on the day before you go on vacation every year!

Too Much Brain...Not Enough Action!

I have a problem.

Sitting on my hard drive doing absolutely nothing are the following:

1) "The Truth About Success" - A 200 page ebook that I wrote in the early part of the year - I reckon it would take me one week to finish it (although it would take another month to get the 'system' in place for selling it.
2) To Our Success" - A 183 part e-course that is two-thirds finished (I've even written the sales letter for this one!)
3) "Concentration Power" - A re-working of an old classic that is one-third finished
4) "Magnetic Wealth" - A new 'small' ebook which will be the first in a series - this is also two-thirds finished.

I only began #4 last week!

And...my new workbook - The Millionaire Mindset was written after #1,#2 and #3!

Each of these products could be earning me income - yet I am not happy enough to put in the time required to get them up to scratch.

Why?

A number of reasons...and they are different for each one:

The Truth About Success
This is my 'pride and joy'. The plans I had for this ebook would require a lot more effort to get it up to the 'standard' that I want to achieve with it.
My aim was to add at least another 50 pages of various links, reviews, content, etc which would have fit in with the message of the ebook. So - I don't want to launch something that I believe should be priced (and valued) higher - just to bring income in. It's also very difficult to 'step back' six months and get back into the original groove of my thinking.

To Our Success
This is currently designed to be a email 'lesson' every other day for an entire year.
At the moment - I still have to finalise the technology side, which is doable, but nevertheless time consuming. I also have a number of ideas for it - an audio version, or just an ebook version. I also have some ideas about a different way to market it - yet despite devoting three solid weeks to it recently - events have moved on.

Concentration Power
This is a re-write of a 'forgotten' book, which in my opinion is excellent - despite it's age. It takes a lot of time to go through sentence by sentence re-wording a 200 page book, believe me! The 'brain power' needed is surprising, given what I am doing - and at the moment - this is the last in line. This will be an ebook - which will also have a supplementary workbook attached.

Magnetic Wealth
This ebook cum Workbook will be the first in a series of concise, simple, and plain-speaking ebooks that you will be able to easily print out and work with, without using up half of a tree. It will be priced under $20 - and each ebook in the series will complement each other and be badged under the same 'banner'. This one, again is probably a week away from the finishing line.

So - why don't I practice what I preach , you're no doubt asking?

Well, in a way I am. Why? Well, all of these projects WILL be finished when the time is right. I guarantee it!. So - what can be more important than getting these ebooks out - and start making more money?

Well...

This is what I have been doing with my time instead :

1) I have been learning more about copywriting. This is a key 'skill' that many marketers on the net ignore, or put very little importance on. People say get traffic to your site - but if you don't have a website that converts that traffic then - what's the point?

2) Second education - I have started to read-up on persuasion, influence, and how people are moved to do things. This isn't from a manipulative viewpoint - the subject itself is an extremely interesting one - snippets of which I will no doubt be sharing with you in the future. It also links in quite nicely with the copywriting education I am giving myself.

3) I am about to embark on the more 'technical' aspects of becoming known on the net. I am working on plans to make sure that my articles are distributed, that my web pages load more efficiently, that I have a plan for link exchange, and that I configure everything to work well with the search engines. This is no mean task, believe me! The reasoning behind this is that I can drive qualified traffic to my site for free through search engines etc. It should be as important as any other thing that I do online.

4) As it is the school's summer holidays - I am concentrating on being 'just' a Dad. This is as important as everything else put together. I will never, ever neglect my duties as a parent at the expense of more 'material' gains. Another day - another dollar, but every day I need to 'deliver' as a parent.

And the 'moral' of my story? Concentrate on building your foundations before you even think about building your 'empire'!

It will be priced under $10 - and each ebook in the series will complement each other and be badged under the same 'banner'.

Two TV Shows - Two Lessons

I have 'found' out two interesting facts from watching daytime TV as I looked after Connor this afternoon.

1) Did you know that top author Jack Higgins (The Eagle Has Landed) generally takes only three and a half weeks to write a book? Once, he even wrote one in 15 days on a subject which he didn't think his publisher would publish (he had to do it to fulfil his contract) - and yet it went on to #1 in the UK, #7 in the US, and made into a popular movie!

What this showed to me was that if I really, truly, want to make something out of my life - I must devote time to it. If I really wanted to write a book in less than a month - could I do it? Or, as is usually the case - would I get sidetracked by the bells and whistles of internet publishing. It definitely gave me food for thought.

2) I turned over to QVC as they started a two-hour special on the 'Painter of Light' - Thomas Kinkade. His paintings are amazing - and one day I will certainly have the money to buy a large canvas to hang in my living room.

It struck me that Kinkade is living proof of the power of residual income. He takes however long to paint one of is (undoubtedly amazing) pictures - then the 'corporate' roll-out begins.

- First - there's the original (God knows how much he could sell that for)
- Second - Reproductions on Canvas
- Third - High Quality full size Print Reproductions
- Fourth - Basic Print Reproductions
- Fifth - Smaller versions of the above
- Sixth - Postcards, Figurines, Plates, Calenders, 'Collectors Club', Lamps, Christmas Tree Decorations - and on and on....

All of these income streams from ONE painting done ONCE in the past! There is certainly a lesson there that can be applied to any business, whether online of off.
I know that it certainly got my 'thinking cap' one. So maybe one day you'll see a quote from The Science of Success on a Christmas decoration!

My Sick Little Boy And My Goals...

I'm writing this past my self-imposed (OK - Lesley demanded it!) watershed of 7pm as I have just had a fun day 'nursing' Connor who has suddenly become ill in a matter of minutes.

He's OK for the moment, but every now and again we go into 'panic stations' and seem to spend an hour or two on sheer adrenaline as he starts to turn blue or 'brings up' blood from his stomach. I tell you - it's not nice, but I don't expect that he has much fun, either!

I've said it many times before - but I could easily have vegetated in front of the TV tonight - as I had a ready-made 'excuse' because he was unwell. But HEY - I refuse to kid myself. I'm as serious about my own success as I am about my family. Just because Connor has been ill doesn't give me the 'right' to kick-back and laze around. Excuses are easy to find, and easy to use. Reasons why are more difficult to find - but so much more valuable when they really mean something.

Writing this is now part of my chosen life - so it will be done in the same way that Connor will be cared for. My 'work' will only suffer when I have absolutely no reason to leave my family commitments to do it. At the moment I can only think of two cases where this will happen - hospital stays, and vacations. Any other 'excuse' isn't good enough!

Assumption Is A Dangerous Game!

One of my most used phrases as a supervisor and manager was "Assumption Is A Dangerous Game".

I always made a point of telling my staff that they should never assume anything. Perhaps a more direct way of saying it was - to assume makes an ass out of u and me! It usually didn't sink in until they assumed something had been done by someone else - and all hell broke loose! By the time I left my job - I think that most people had got it.

It's easy to fall into the trap - especially with such reliance on automated systems for running my 'business' on the Internet. You assume that your website will be 'up' 24/7, that your autoresponders are doing their job, and that your download links are working properly. Take one of the autoresponders that I use for welcoming subscribers to Our Success Partnership ezine, for example. Every day, I manually add in any new subsribers I get from www.ezineplace.com, and I assume that they get sent out correctly.

Big mistake!

The system may tell you one thing, but you must test it to make sure that it works! Every now and again, I add in one of my own personal email addresses from yahoo, just to make sure that it is all working correctly. A couple of days ago, after I had made a few changes, I tested it, and guess what - I didn't receive the 'test' email! So - I fired off an urgent email - and the autoresponder company's techie person is looking at it as I write. (and...the 'test message' function appears to do what it is supposed to!)

So - of course, I'm not going to 'send' any more emails using the autoresponder until I know that it works. Because I didn't assume anything I am now not 'losing out' on any information I could have given my new subscribers. But guess what the hundreds of other users are doing? - probably nothing, because they just assume that it is working!

Don't make a similar mistake. Regularly check (whether online or in the 'real' world) that you aren't assuming that a key part of your business, or even life, is working as it should. If anything impacts on my business then it is my SOLE resonsibility to make sure that it works. Don't fall into the assumption trap - the time it takes to check something will be far less than if you have to re-do everything from scratch if it goes wrong.

So What? I'm An Asthmatic!

OK. I'll admit it. I'm a wheezer (well, asthmatic anyway).

I'm currently going short of breath about every couple of hours between 'puffs' of my inhaler. The last thing in the world I couldn't go without are my prized collection of Ventolin inhalers. One upstairs, one downstairs, one in Lesley's handbag. At the moment, I RELY on them to get me through the day. I know that I won't achieve my target (to stop wheezing) without the necessary tool (my inhaler) and the plans to back it up (one strategically placed wherever I might suddenly need it.)

What's stopping you from reaching your target? Is it because you don't have a target in the first place? You'd be surprised at how many people wander around complaining that they want more out of life - yet don't even know what 'more' is.

If you know what you want - do you have the correct tools to do the job? Are you learning more about what you need top do to get to where you want to go? Do you spend the money necessary to get the best 'education' of the subject that you can find? Yet again - how many people shy away from spending $30 on a book that could change their lives if they applied what is written in it?

Do you have the plans to back all this up? Are you setting aside a specific period of time each day, or every week, to follow through on what needs to be done? Are you making sure that you are putting the required effort into your success 'project'. This is the crucial aspect that a lot of almost successful people miss. They try to find the shortest, and easiest route to something when the longest, and hardest route is usually the most beneficial in the long run.

Don't be like an asthmatic without an inhaler. Don't get short of breath before it's too late.

Notes From The Masters

I was going through my notes from the Internet Marketing SuperConference this morning to review what I had learned and if I could apply any more of it (yes - I do practise what I preach) - and I came across the answers to the question that I posed to the panel of experts, namely:

"What, in one word, would you say is the secret to your success?"

Here's what they said:

Passion
Persistence
Knowledge
Marketing
Multiple Streams of Income
Faith/Belief
Integrity
Relentless
Failure
'Reason Why'

The last one was from Yanik Silver (who is a very successful online entrepreneur after only 2 years) - and it is also the most interesting!

What's the reason why you do what you do?
What's the reason why people would buy what you sell?
What's the reason why you earn what you earn?

It's an almost never-ending question that interests the 'hell' out of me! I'm sure that I'll write a book (or at least an article) about it someday.

Look at the rest of the words - what do they tell you about what success is? Every one is about YOU. What YOU can do to be successful. These words are simple - but they were certainly difficult for the 'gurus' to think of when they were put on the spot.

How can you use them to help your success in the future?

Lessons From WWII...

We visited some caves today (yep, it's still the school holidays!). They were used during the Second World War to protect up to 15,000 people EVERY NIGHT from the German bombing. It's amazing to see how resourceful my grandfather's generation were. There was a hospital, a 'hall', separate toilets, and even a 'Citizens Advice Bureau'!

It made me realise how lucky we ALL are. We can live our lives without fear (most of us anyway), we can go where we want, do what we want, even buy what we want thanks to credit. Why then, do we waste so much of it? Here in the UK, our schooling is (practically) free. But if I was asked to find $15 a week to fund my daughter's education - then I would make sure that I found it.

Everything we take for granted was only wishful thinking even only a generation ago. We have more services at our disposal than even our parents would have loved to have growing up - yet, we complain more and more about how unfortunate we are. Don't wait for the 'bombs' to start dropping before you realise that you have the means already to get to wherever you want to go. Don't squander the legacy that you have been given.

Change Your Mood...Change Your Attitude.

I locked myself away in my office as World War Three was going on downstairs. Mother (age 32) versus daughter (age 6 going on 26) were firing on all cylinders. Doors were being slammed, screeching voices echoed throughout the house. I was better off out of it.

Ten minutes later everybody was happy. In fact, we were all singing and dancing!

So - how did this transformation take place? Simple. Music. Music that had cost me nothing. Music from a CD that had been given away with a newspaper a couple of weeks ago. This CD had a record on that my wife and I use to dance to about ten years ago. So...as my wife was fuming in the garden - I put it on the stereo and within five minutes we were transported back to the times that we thought would last forever.

Never underestimate the power of music in your life. I listen to Baroque music while I work to keep me focused, and I like a good sing-along to some 70s Disco when I feel as if I'm starting to get miserable. Try it - try feeling miserable when you've got Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi thundering from the speakers. Change your mood - change your attitude, it's quite simple, really!

It's Payback Time!

I've just spent less than an hour surfing the net and I have at least three new ideas written down that I can apply to my business. They didn't cost me anything - I picked them up from message boards, free reports, and articles.

You could find out as much as you would need to know about any subject you could imagine - but do you? Or do you just read and move on? Read, write it down, then move on. It's surprising how quickly your mind will forget once you get onto the next website. Out of the three ideas - I might try just one...but if it even only gains me one more subscriber a day or one more sale a month - it hasn't cost anything - apart from my time.

Can you find ways to get a 'payback' on your internet surf time? It's all out there - you just need to find it, write it down, and act on it.

Oh What A Night!

I've just spent a not-so pleasurable night on the sofa. No, yours truly hasn't fallen out with the wife, I decided to spend the night downstairs with Connor so that Lesley could have a night's unbroken sleep. As he sleeps in our bedroom and is always awake by 4.a.m. - this is no small sacrifice on my part!

I managed a total of five hours before Connor's 'sats' machine started to go crazy. This machine monitors Connor's oxygen saturation levels 24 hours a day. We need our blood to be full of oxygen for us to function properly. You and I would usually have a level of around 95%-100% oxygen at any point. Without the constant supply of extra oxygen that Connor has through his tracheostomy tube he hovers around 60%-70%, which would usually mean that he would pass out and stop breathing entirely within a few minutes without it.

Anyway - enough of this medical stuff. The sats machine alarm sounds pretty much like an alarm clock - and is as loud. Can you imagine having to get out of bed, and walk over to 'kill' your alarm buzzer every 10 minutes for three hours? Well, that's what I did in the early hours of this morning. In the end I had to switch the thing of and constantly keep a watch on him just to make sure that he looked OK.

I could look at this experience two ways - I could complain and feel sorry for myself, or I could try to do something positive. Guess what I chose? So inbetween watching Connor and dosing up on Coffee, I read a few chapters of a book that really interested me, and concentrated my thoughts on how I could use the new information I had just learned. I can now look back on that time I had in the early hours as a positive experience and not as something negative. I'm very tired - but so what - I can sleep tonight, can't I?

Remember that there is two sides to every coin. You alone have the power to decide which way it falls in your favor.

The Jobs I Could Never Do...

My wife (Lesley) has been quite ill and bed-ridden for the last couple of days and I have been in full charge of the kids and the housework. It takes me three times longer than Lesley to do the household chores - and it always seems to take so much more effort when I'm not really motivated to do it.

It made me realise that there are certain 'jobs' that I could never happily do to my full potential. Don't make the same mistake if you are looking to get out of your 9-5. Never take on a job or task that doesn't suit you - no matter how 'exciting' it may be, or how 'rich' other people have become because of it. It amazes me how many people bend themselves to fit a job, rather than finding a job that fits them.

Work out what you're good at (and don't mind doing) - then find a way to make an income from it.

My wife (Lesley) has been

My wife (Lesley) has been quite ill and bed-ridden for the last couple of days and I have been in full charge of the kids and the housework. It takes me three times longer than Lesley to do the household chores - and it always seems to take so much more effort when I'm not really motivated to do it.

It made me realise that there are certain 'jobs' that I could never happily do to my full potential. Don't make the same mistake if you are looking to get out of your 9-5. Who Says You Will Always Fail?

Did you know that drinking water is over 3 billion years old? (I know this because I took Katie, my six year-old to the Science Museum in London today). It makes you wonder how many other people have drunk the same water as you, doesn't it?

I look upon success the same way - it has always been there in almost infinite amounts in the history of the world - and can therefore there is always enough to 'go round'. Just because your brother is successful - doesn't mean that you can't be. Just because you have failed a few times - doesn't mean that you will always fail.

Look upon success just like that water you drink every day - you don't want to know where it's been - you just need to know that it is YOURS at that very moment.

My Aim With This Blog

My aim with this blog is to post at least every weekday.

I have found that the best way to keep motivated is to challenge yourself - hence I am challenging myself to write something constructive every weekday!

After another day of epileptic fits and sickness from Connor, it can be difficult to stay motivated - but nevertheless, this is part of what I have chosen my life to be and I know that if I work at it now - the rewards will follow :-)

In The Beginning...

Welcome to the first installment of what will be my regular reflections on life, love, and all things positive.

My aim with this diary (or weblog as the techies call it) is to share with you my thoughts on a regular basis - the sort of things that don't easily fit into the Our Success Partnership ezine or in my ebooks.

I promise that I won't be boring :-)
