Lessen The 'Downs'...Leverage The 'Ups'.

It's not that often that I get 'wound up'.

But...our seven-year-old daughter Katie is going through one of those 'screaming, shouting, rudeness' phases at the moment.

It's her way (I think) of reacting to our move last month.

Although she appears to have settled into her new school OK...and is involved in things generally...both Lesley and I think that she is still a little way away from being 'settled'.

And...perhaps Lesley and I are the same.

We've got a nice house, just a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the sea...and things are winding up to Christmas (although the first Christmas without Connor being around will mean that it is more of a reflective, rather than celebratory one).

But...

Mainly because of Katie's daily outbursts...there can be an atmosphere in the air occasionally.

But...isn't LIFE like that sometimes?

It's never a smooth easy ride, is it?

That's part of the FUN!

Sure...we all have 'off' days...but, by showing a little empathy to Katie instead of just shouting at her...we can try to make the path a little smoother, can't we?

Plus...it's great to be able to take an hour out of the day to wrap up and go for a walk along the coast. (Boy...is it windy here!)

The trick with the game called life is to lessen the impact of the 'down' times...and leverage those 'up' times.

Some days it might take more work than others...but if you can aim to come out 'ahead' EVERY day...then, life can't be that bad can it?
