One Door Closes

There was a time in the not too distant past when I would
have stressed - even despaired - when a door closed in my
life.

Perhaps my perceptions have changed. In my younger days
(I'm saying that a lot as I approach the big Five-Oh!) I saw
doors not only closing but:

* SLAMMING
* TRIPLE BOLTED
* with 'GO AWAY & DON'T COME BACK' emblazoned across in
angry, black graffitti-style letters.

I recall the time SHE dumped me... (and there were many she's)

OR

Those business ventures where I had to excitedly contact my
'list' of friends, relatives and acquaintances. How quickly
they scattered every time they saw me coming with a new
'opportunity'!

Then there were the truly tough times when a beloved pet or
family member passed away.

And the time the doctor told me, "You have Leukemia."

And yet another time when my wife and I lost our house and
eventually filed for bankruptcy.

Don't think for one minute that I am bitter, crying or
complaining although I'll admit that I've done my fair share
of that. But not anymore. In fact, the harder the door
closes, the MORE I look forward to what's behind Door #2!

So, what am I now... a self-masochist?

NO WAY!

Think about it for a second. After all I've been through,
I'M STILL HERE! I'm ALIVE & WELL and able to tell you all
about how I not only survived, but PROSPERED MORE for my
experiences!

I'm here to tell you that when one door closes, another
always opens. And what's behind Door #2 has been far better
than anything I thought I had behind Door #1. ALWAYS!

I'm not saying it will be easy. But I DO PROMISE things will be BETTER.

Blessings from Toronto,
Russ
