For years, I have been an avid reader of the Reader's Digest. Each month there are at least one or two stories that are particularly inspiring, motivating or just plain heart warming. Just when I thought I have heard about or read almost everything imaginable, along comes another story that absolutely blew me away. I simply had to share it with you. The article is called, "Sarah's Labour of Love" (note the Canadian spelling!) and was first published in the Los Angeles Times on August 19, 2001. Prize winning writer, Bill Plaschke follows up on a coincidental email and goes on to uncover a life story so incredible as to leave NO MORE EXCUSES. One of the most striking lines in the piece is where Bill is describing an email from Sarah Morris. In it she asks, "How did you become a baseball editorialist? That is my deam." Bill's first thought was that Sarah was just a lousy typist. Or maybe she was really searching for something and was only one letter away from finding it. WOW!!! What a coincidence. First of all, to have misspelled that particular word... and then for Bill to articulate it in such a magnificent way that hits home for so many of us.
