I spent the best part of 45 minutes trying to get Katie's homemade kite to fly without much success.
I would manage to get it to about 7 feet...and then it would shoot down towards me...spinning as it went.
No matter what I tried...running around like an idiot...or twisting the string it was attached to...it just wouldn't work.
It took Lesley to make me come to my senses.
"It's because it's not windy enough, stupid!"
I admit (to you anyway! lol)...that she had a point.
It WAS windy for 10 seconds at a time...but it was neither strong enough or gusted for long enough to get that damned kite up in the air!
Even if it was the most aero-dynamic kite in the world...it STILL wouldn't have got up there because of the lack of a strong wind.
Life's the same.
You can struggle...you can huff and puff...you can change direction...yet STILL you can't 'take off'!
Why?
Because you haven't got the right sort of wind behind you to propel you forward, that's why!
If you are doing what you are doing for completely the wrong reasons...then you will NEVER get off of the ground!
Unless you approach your life from a TOTAL perspective...where your work fits into your family fits in what makes you fulfilled fits back into your work...then, well, you are going to struggle to reach the heights that you REALLY want to.
So before you reach for the stars...as well as having a kite...make sure that you are able to support it on its way up!
