I locked myself away in my office as World War Three was going on downstairs. Mother (age 32) versus daughter (age 6 going on 26) were firing on all cylinders. Doors were being slammed, screeching voices echoed throughout the house. I was better off out of it.
Ten minutes later everybody was happy. In fact, we were all singing and dancing!
So - how did this transformation take place? Simple. Music. Music that had cost me nothing. Music from a CD that had been given away with a newspaper a couple of weeks ago. This CD had a record on that my wife and I use to dance to about ten years ago. So...as my wife was fuming in the garden - I put it on the stereo and within five minutes we were transported back to the times that we thought would last forever.
Never underestimate the power of music in your life. I listen to Baroque music while I work to keep me focused, and I like a good sing-along to some 70s Disco when I feel as if I'm starting to get miserable. Try it - try feeling miserable when you've got Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi thundering from the speakers. Change your mood - change your attitude, it's quite simple, really!
