At the grand old age of ninety-one, the much loved British actress Dame Thora Hird passed away yesterday.
She always seemed like a very down-to-earth person...and this came across when the news programmes were doing a review of her long career.
What struck me, however, was what they said that she kept on her bedside table.
On it...she always had this note...
"Don't stop doing things because you're growing old...otherwise you'll grow old because you've stopped doing things."
Now...isn't that a wonderful and positive reminder to have every day before you go to sleep and as you wake up?
Thora Hird had perhaps some of her most widespread successes in film and TV in the years that most of us would gladly want to sit by the fire with our cocoa and slippers!
So...are you growing old before your time because you're not doing things that push you even a little bit?
Makes you think, doesn't it?
